This is a comprehensive list of upcoming and recurrent programs for adults. Online registration is offered via web calendar. You may also register in-person, or by phone at 815-786-8308. Registration is not required for programs unless noted; however, you may choose to register for any program if desired.

Please note: If programs that require registration do not reach minimum capacity 48 hours before scheduled date, the program may be cancelled. If such a situation occurs, you will be notified by phone prior to original program time.


End of Summer Reading Party
August 3rd | 12-2pm
Celebrate the end of a wonderfully well-traversed reading challenge! Visit the library to enjoy games, a special bounce house – be prepared to get wet!, sno-cones, cotton candy, ice cream and more.

Solving Climate Change
August 18th | 10—11am
Join presenter Mike Zanillo tor a special program on climate change. Learn how climate change is effecting the planet and discover various ways on how we can manage it.

Essential Oils 101
August 21st | 7—8pm
Learn the history, basics, and benefits of essential oils as well as how to enjoy them safely. Presented by Katie Dick—Level 1 Aromatherapist.

People's Picasso
August 28th | 6:30—8pm
Have you ever been interested in getting your caricature done? Now’s your chance! Join professional caricature artist Mary Ellen Nilles and learn about the history of caricature art. Mary Ellen will demonstrate how to draw a caricature and will then create one for anyone who would like to have one drawn.


Adult Craft Night
1st Tuesdays | 7pm
Feeling crafty? Come to Adult Craft Night!  All materials will be provided. The program takes place the first Tuesday of every month. Ages 16+. Registration is required and available online or at the library. There are only ten open spots due to material provisional restraints, so make sure to register early! Registration required. Register in-person, by phone, or online by visiting our calendar event page. Note: you must register for each individual craft night session.

Chess Club (NEW!)
3rd Thursdays | 1pm
Challenge your peers with a good, old-fashioned game of chess. Group is open to all skill levels. There is no instruction. Just come on in, find a seat and start playing. Three chessboards will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!

1st & 3rd Mondays | 1PM
Do you love documentaries? Come to the library for our new Documonday program series! The library will be showing a documentary the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month. Documentaries will vary all ranges of subject matter. If you have a documentary in mind that you would like to see, let us know! We do take requests. No registration required to attend.

Reader's Haven Book Club
2nd Tuesdays | 7PM
3rd Wednesdays | 1PM
Come enjoy a lively discussion about the month’s club pick! Copies of the club books are available in regular, large print, and audio formats to everyone. Walking Wednesdays (NEW!)
Wednesdays | 10AM – 11AM
Get outside, get some exercise and enjoy the fresh air! Join us for a weekly walk with your neighbors and friends around town. There must be at least three attendees for program to run. Group will not meet if raining or temperature is below 45°.
