This is a comprehensive list of upcoming and recurrent programs for adults. Online registration is offered via web calendar. You may also register in-person, or by phone at 815-786-8308. Registration is not required for programs unless noted; however, you may choose to register for any program if desired.

Please note: If programs that require registration do not reach minimum capacity 48 hours before scheduled date, the program may be cancelled. If such a situation occurs, you will be notified by phone prior to original program time.

Foreign Film Fridays
Every Friday beginning June 8th - July 27th | 1pm
Experience movies from different cultures every week during the course of our Summer Reading Program! Movies will be played from Germany, France, Italy, and more! Popcorn included.Monday Movie Matinee 

Summer Reading Kick-Off
June 9th | 11:30pm - 1:30pm:
Kick-off the Summer Reading Program the right way! With our annual Kick-Off Party! Register for Summer Reading and enjoy free food, a bouncy house, an exotic petting zoo, touch-a-truck and more! Also, meet our new Director and discuss future goals of the library.

Annual Book Sale
June 15th | All day
Join the library for our 2nd annual major book sale! Browse books, movies, magazines and more. Even explore new Sandwich merchandise for sale! 

Basics of Alzheimers
June 19th | 7pm
The Alzheimer's Association Illinois Chapter will present on the facts and basics of the Alzheimer's disease. Learn about detection, causes, risk factors, stages, treatment and more.

Henna Heaven
June 26th | 6-9pm
Come to the library and experience the cultural art of henna! Professional Bek Huston will describe the history of henna and discuss popular designs. Get a chance to play with henna ink and even get a piece done by Bek!

 

RECURRING PROGRAMS

Adult Craft Night
1st Tuesdays | 7pm
Feeling crafty? Come to Adult Craft Night!  All materials will be provided. The program takes place the first Tuesday of every month. Ages 16+. Registration is required and available online or at the library. There are only ten open spots due to material provisional restraints, so make sure to register early! Registration required. Register in-person, by phone, or online by visiting our calendar event page. Note: you must register for each individual craft night session.

Chess Club (NEW!)
3rd Thursdays | 1pm
Challenge your peers with a good, old-fashioned game of chess. Group is open to all skill levels. There is no instruction. Just come on in, find a seat and start playing. Three chessboards will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!

Documonday
1st & 3rd Mondays | 1PM
Do you love documentaries? Come to the library for our new Documonday program series! The library will be showing a documentary the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month. Documentaries will vary all ranges of subject matter. If you have a documentary in mind that you would like to see, let us know! We do take requests. No registration required to attend.

One-on-one Computer Aid

Need help navigating your computer? Interested in honing in your computer skills? Make an appointment for a one-on-one tutorial with Reference Librarian at the Sandwich Public Library to increase your computer skills. Appointments run from half-hour to hour sessions. Feel free to schedule as many appointments as needed. Appointment required. Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance. Reader's Haven Book Club
2nd Tuesdays | 7PM
3rd Wednesdays | 1PM
Come enjoy a lively discussion about the month’s club pick! Copies of the club books are available in regular, large print, and audio formats to everyone. Walking Wednesdays (NEW!)
Wednesdays | 10AM – 11AM
Get outside, get some exercise and enjoy the fresh air! Join us for a weekly walk with your neighbors and friends around town. There must be at least three attendees for program to run. Group will not meet if raining or temperature is below 45°.
