2023 Consolidated Election for Library Board Trustees

Election Process

NOMINATION PROCESS:

• Trustee Qualifications:
  Qualified elector of the library district with one-year residency in the library district at the time nomination papers are filed. 
  
  
• Petition Packets:
  Complete a Petition Packet for eligibility to run for the Library Board Trustee election. Petition Packets include the following required nomination papers:
  • Petitions
  • Statement of Candidacy
  • Loyalty Oath (optional)
  • Statement of Economic Interests
  • Fair Campaign Practices Act (voluntary)
    
    
• Petition Signature Requirements: 23 valid signatures from registered voters are required for nomination eligibility.
  
  
• Where to access Petition Packets:
  Petition Packets are currently available for pickup at the Sandwich Public Library District. Petition packets may only be provided to you in-person, from the Library Director. • Filing Dates: 
  File completed Petition Packet to the Library's Local Election Official (Library Director) between December 12th - December 19th, 2022. 
  
  
• Term:
  Sandwich Public Library District Board Trustees serve 4-year terms. Newly elected officials' terms begin on May 15th, 2023.
