The Challenge
Summer Reading Challenge 2023
June 3rd - July 22nd
Register at the library anytime starting on Saturday, June 3rd.
What is this year's challenge?
This year, we are challenging everyone to read for at least 15 minutes every day. The purpose of this goal is to invest more time in reading and develop daily reading as a habit. If reading every day doesn’t work out for you, just make sure that you reach the total minute goal for the month (420 minutes for the month of June, and 330 minutes for the month of July).
How can I take the challenge?
Stop by the library to register, and we'll give you everything you need to participate, including a log for you to track your progress!
Who can take the challenge?
All ages are welcome to accept the challenge!
You will be asked to indicate your grade or age range when you sign your reading log.
You do not have to be a Sandwich Library patron or live within our city limits. All are welcome!
Can I track multiple readers?
Parents can sign up children who are not able to register and track themselves.
What kind of reading counts toward my goal?
All kinds of reading: fiction, nonfiction, and audiobooks.
How can I turn in my reading log?
Stop by the library and submit your reading log at the front desk. But remember, you can't turn your log in early. June logs can be turned in beginning on June 30th, and July logs can be turned in beginning on July 22nd. All logs must be submitted before the end of July 27th to be eligible for a grand prize.
Are there prizes for completing the challenge?
You bet there are!
At the end of the month, when you complete that month’s goal, turn in your reading log at the front desk of the library to receive a prize and a raffle ticket for a grand prize. We’ll draw winners for the grand prizes at the our Summer Reading Finale on Friday, July 28th at 7pm.
What are the prizes?
Glad you asked.
